Shallow diving bass lures are where it started for me. The feeling of blasting one across a shallow reef and cranking it back between the whitewater sections, waiting for an aggressive take can't be beaten. This type of lure excels in shallow water when there's a bit of swell or a bit too much wind to happily fish a lightly weighted soft plastic.
